　　Slurry pump refers to a kind of machinery that increases the energy of solid-liquid mixed media by virtue of centrifugal force (rotation of pump impeller), and converts electrical energy into kinetic energy and potential energy of media. It is mainly applicable to mining, power plant, dredging, metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials, petroleum and other industries.

　　Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid is thrown from the center of the impeller to the outer edge and obtains energy, leaving the outer edge of the impeller at high speed and entering the volute pump housing. In the volute pump casing, the liquid decelerates due to the gradual expansion of the flow channel, and converts part of the kinetic energy into static energy. Finally, it flows into the discharge pipe at a higher pressure and is sent to the place where it is needed. When the liquid flows from the impeller center to the outer edge, a certain vacuum is formed in the impeller center. Since the pressure above the liquid level of the storage tank is greater than the pressure at the pump inlet, the liquid is continuously pressed into the impeller.

　　The slurry pump delivers a mixture of solid particles containing dregs and water. But in principle, the slurry pump belongs to a kind of centrifugal pump, which is mainly used in the slurry transportation of converter dedusting water, blast furnace gas washing water, continuous casting turbid circulating water and steel rolling turbid circulating water systems in iron and steel enterprises.
